Meet our coaches
DIRECTOR OF COACHING
2016 GIRLS HEAD COACH
I have a national B level coaching qualification and have been a head and assistant coach for youth teams through the high school level. I am also the head varsity coach for the Fairmont high school girls team.
The #1 thing we all want for every player and every team in our club is improvement in soccer skills because with improvement comes individual and general happiness and greater chances of on-field success—which generates even more happiness.

GIRLS 2012 GOLD
I have a Grassroots license and am working towards a D license.
I have loved and played soccer my entire life! I started playing club at a young age, was a four-year varsity high school player and played at the collegiate level. I understand the game as a player and now as a coach. I started getting involved with Oakwood United in 2016 with the First Touch and Youth Academy Programs.
I enjoy the interaction amongst players, parents, and fellow Oakwood United teams. There is a bond between all who are part of Oakwood United and that kind of support is one of a kind.
BOYS 2013 NAVY
I love coaching for Oakwood United because it’s an opportunity to invest in the families right here where our kids are growing up. It’s fun to see the parents and grandparents rooting for their children but also getting excited for their friends’ and neighbors’ children.
I am have my US Coaching License as well as all the necessary licenses to teach and coach scholastically here in Ohio. I’m excited to meet everybody! Come on United!
BOYS 2014 GOLD
I have a US national D license certification and have coached select soccer at Oakwood United since 2017 and in the Youth Academy for a few years before that.
Our team goals:
1. Have Fun.
2. Get better each time we take the field.
My personal coach goals:
1. Guide our team to play good soccer and not just win at all costs (but we still like to win).
2. Most importantly, have an enriching team and personal growth experience for the players.
I believe Oakwood United gives our team more than the needed resources and does a great job fostering the goals stated above. It is the perfect place to play youth competitive soccer.

For each team that I currently coach or have coached my biggest thrill is to watch those players go on to have very successful high school careers and beyond.
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF COACHING
2013 GIRLS HEAD COACH
I am a former collegiate national champion and professional soccer player. Throughout my playing experiences in North America, Europe, and Brazil, I observed numerous coaching insights that I apply to leading Select and Olympic Development teams. I also have experience working in Major League Soccer and managing the US tour for Manchester United, Chelsea, and other top clubs.
I have enjoyed many years working throughout the Oakwood United club (Select, Youth Academy, and First Touch). It is amazing to see the sense of accomplishment from young players, who may come into a season without a full sense of their capabilities. It is very rewarding to motivate them to exceed their goals.
BOYS 2011 GOLD
I have been coaching for 6 years with Oakwood United at various ages. I have been playing soccer for 30 years including at the high school and collegiate level and continue to play indoor coed today.
I love that this sport teaches you more than just how to play the game. You learn how to be a good teammate, how to deal with adversity, how to lose and how to stay humble when you win. Coaching youth athletes allows me to share my love of the game with them. Watching a player develop season after season, growing in skill and confidence is the most rewarding.
BOYS 2012 NAVY
BOYS 2012 WHITE
I have coached soccer at the select level since 2022 following my previous coaching experience at the Youth Academy level. My athletic background is primarily in folk-style wrestling and fitness, as a former D-1 Wrestler at the Air Force Academy and I have 12+ years of experience coaching wrestling, fitness, and now soccer for ages ranging from youth to high school to adults.
My coaching philosophy is centered on the idea that we are not only focused on making better soccer players but developing better people through soccer. Through an emphasis on teamwork, sportsmanship, hard work, and personal development, we define success through the process rather than the end results of wins and losses.

BOYS 2014 NAVY
I played soccer from age 7 to 50 and served as captain of the high school soccer team at Fairborn High School, earning All-District and All-Western Ohio League honors.
I began my coaching journey, starting with Soccer Centerville's U14 Boys team. Subsequently, I had a remarkable 24-year tenure as the Boys Head Coach at Springboro High School, where we achieved numerous league titles. During that time, I played a pivotal role in developing the Dayton Galaxies and Ohio Galaxies soccer clubs for high school-age girls and established a Summer League for collegiate players. I also coached my youngest son and his friends at Oakwood United and held various coaching certifications, including the United Soccer Coaches Association's National and Advanced National Diplomas and the USSF 9v9 Grassroots Certificate. My unwavering motivation as a coach has been to foster relationships, nurture competition, guide individual development, and help players become their best selves.
My coaching journey spans 35 years, and my commitment to driving players to improve remains a constant. I find immense joy in coaching my youngest son and his friends at Oakwood United and continue to be deeply involved in the sport that has been a lifelong passion.
